Code of Conduct

Click here for a complete explanation of the Code of
Conduct that will change the way Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac lenders will do business with appraisers. The
Code closely resembles SCPAC's Appraiser
Independence Bill.
The OFHEO (Office of Federal Housing Enterprise
Oversight) has now shortened the comment period from
90 days to 45 days. SCPAC is soliciting your comments
that we will use to comment to both Government
Sponsored Enterprises (GSE’s) Freddie and Fannie on
behalf of SCPAC. This is a great opportunity to help the
GSE’s help us! What are your suggestions for workable
and practical solutions for implementation of the Code
of Conduct and the Home Valuation Protection
Institute? The Code and the HVPI are going to happen,
so this is not the time to criticize, but to focus on the
principals in the Code, ideas to make them more
effective, and suggested solutions and your ideas to
implement the Code and the Independent Valuation
Protection Institute. We need a shared vision for the
future and ideas to avoid disruption of our business and
the business practices of these GSE’s.
SCPAC wants to hear from you. The comment period
expires on April 30th, so we need your comments by April
25th. Please send your comments to: scpac@scpac.net.
You can also provide your individual comments directly
